For any of you that are lucky enough to have a Pizza Fusion within driving distance, please go have a slice for me. While out in San Diego I thought I should at least try this pizza chain that uses quality organic ingredients and is very eco-friendly.
I'm so glad that I was able to visit and eat there! I got to have pizza and beer served by one of the owners. The whole experience was great. The salad tasted fresh, tossed with just the right amount of dressing - don't you hate it when they drown the lettuce on top and then half way through there isn't any dressing left? You can have almost any topping on the pizza (with the exception of the bbq sauce and sausage). There are so many to choose from you won't miss the few that you can't have. I had the Big Kahuna with organic pineapple, bacon and red onion. The one drawback is that gluten free pizzas only come one size - large. It turned OK though - I took the leftovers back to my hotel and ate them for breakfast the next couple days. It was a welcome addition to the provided fruit.
The pizza was so good that I probably ate more than I should have, but when I was told that they also had a fresh gf brownie, I couldn't pass it up. It was amazing, definitely better than any gf brownie I've had and probably better than most of the gluten versions. I ate the whole thing - and I must have weighed an extra 5 pounds after dinner!
They also had the delicious Green's beer - both Discovery and Endeavour. Endeavour is a darker beer, which I'm not a huge fan of, so I went with Discovery, an amber beer. It has a really great taste that is described best as smooth and goes perfectly with pizza.
